January 2025 Meeting

We did not have a Board Meeting on January 4th, but we had a work day. The next Board meeting is Saturday, February 1st, at 10 a.m. Meetings are held at the Camp in the Dining Hall. All are welcome to attend.

Birthday Challenge 

The Birthday Challenge is still going on. On your birthday, give $1 for each year old you are! You don’t have to wait for your birthday to give. We have had 4 challenges made as of our November 2nd meeting.

The Sideboard is in progress, not completed. 

News 

The two trees that needed to be taken down have been taken down. The branches and trunks are mostly cleaned up as well. 

Work Day 

Renovation of Cabin 11 was begun. The panelling came out fairly easily, and the ceiling tiles basically removed themselves after the first section was pulled, but the kitchenette gave us a little bit of trouble. The insulation looks to be in good condition, which is good news. As this is a full renovation of a year round use cabin, we are re-doing the layout to make it a more functional space. The walls, insulation, and bathtub are the only things that are not being replaced. While the labor will be all, or at least mostly, volunteer, the materials and furniture will have a price tag associated with them. 

Financial 

We are entering the slow season for rentals, and that means less income. We have a lot of projects we would like to complete (see above). While the labor is mostly volunteer, the materials needed come at a price. 

We do rely on our Camp family for financial support. The rental income is a blessing, not a given. In order for us to continue to move forward with our renovation plans, we need our family to get involved.

We have 2 options for online giving. We use tithe.ly, which is an app available for both Android and iOS users. We are now listed as New Life Christian Camp! We also use PayPal using the email address newlifechristiancamp@outlook.com.
