Camp Fusion - July 13-18

Camp Fusion 2025 wrap up

If you were at Camp this year you know we had a great week! While we were at capacity

everyone had a place to sleep, even if it wasn’t their first choice. There were 140 people

registered for the week; 56 adults, 52 youth, and 23 children.

We were out of beds in both dorms. As we had no other room available, there were people over

18 in the dorms. This is something that is being addressed for Camp Fusion 2026.

There were no major issues and no major injuries this year. There was some trouble with the RVs

on site, as well as in the restrooms.

Many attendees said they are coming back next year, and we also know that there will be new

attendees as well.

As of the July 19th annual meeting, Camp Fusion expenses were $22, 912.04, with income at

$24,544.01. There were still outstanding bills to be paid but we were sitting well financially. A

$1,500 donation/missions offering went to Jeremiah via 127 Ministries. A $1,500 donation/love

offering went to the Lesters.

Nominations for the 6 open Board positions were made: Cindy Outlaw, Bobby Terry, Lisa

Billingsley, Luke Tippey, Ashley Johnson, Holly Chapman. Darci Webber, and Ciara Hibbs both

declined their nominations. Nick Belvin initially accepted a nomination but then withdrew. Due

to there being 6 open positions and 6 nominees, there was no vote other than by acclimation.

2,149 meals were served during Camp Fusion. This was an increase of around 100 meals from

2024. We didn’t have as many people come out from town this year.

Our housekeeping staff, and Luke, have been busy getting everything put back together and

cleaned up. We are very grateful to each of them for their efforts!

Giving

We rely heavily on our Camp Family for support, as the rentals are a blessing, and not a

given. The projects we would like to take on are, at best, nearly impossible, on our current

income. If you do not currently support the Camp financially, we ask that you please consider

doing so.

We have 2 options for online giving. We use tithe.ly, which is an app available for both

Android and iOS users, and PayPal. You can find us on tithe.ly as New Life Christian Camp

and on PayPal using @nlcca1914 or searching New Life Christian Camp.

If you prefer to mail a check, they can be made out to NLCCA, and sent to 11257 Old Macomb

Road, Rushville, IL 62681.

Camp News

The Board approved 2 much needed building projects, and we are talking to our bank about loan

options. The dining hall is being expanded and a new motel is being added. The focus of the new

motel layout is family-friendly rooms.

The Board approved the purchase of an RV that is currently on the grounds. It was loaned to us

for use during Camp Fusion and we then found out it was up for sale. As it is a model designed

to handle all 4 seasons we felt it was a good investment.

Our long-term rental rates are being discussed and adjusted again. The current rates are too high

for one person to maintain and are often lowered as a result.

Schuyler County has yet to file our corrected deed. We are still waiting for an answer as to why

this has not happened. Follow up is being done and we hope to see movement soon.

Camp Projects/Maintenance- to be done

New windows and doors need to be installed in the Caretaker’s house.

Threshold installed on Youth Chapel side door.

Interior renovation of Sideboard.

Paint exterior trim of Sideboard.

Insulation and drywall installation in Girls’ Dorm.

General clean out of cabins currently being used for storage.

Painting trim around new doors installed on Cabins 12, 20, and 22.

We have not set formal work days yet, but keep an eye out for them. As the building projects get

underway we will need all the help we can get. Our goal is to pay for only the work that cannot

easily be done by non-professionals. There will be something for every skill level.

Occupancy

As of our August meeting, we had 3 RV sites, all 10 motel rooms, 1 cabin, and both apartments

rented. 6 rooms, 1 cabin, and 1 apartment were occupied by a group that came down to work. 1

apartment and 2 rooms were hunters. 1 room was a worker, and 1 room was rented that night.
