Camp News
Keith Vaughn passed away February 20th. His services were held February 25th and 26th. His obituary can be viewed at https://www.triplettwood.com/obituaries/ansel-vaughn. He was a huge supporter of the Camp and a great friend and mentor to many. He will be greatly missed.
The renovation of Cabin 11 is progressing nicely. The wiring has been completed (new outlets, overhead lights), and the drywall has been hung. The taping and mudding phase is being hired out, as is the flooring installation. The flooring is scheduled to be installed on March 10th, and the drywaller will be coming in on March 15th. The current cost of this project is $7,809.10,
after a rebate. We have not yet purchased paint or furniture. This total also does not include the flooring installation or drywaller cost.
The first 9 baskets for the disc golf course are being assembled. Weather permitting, they hope to install them in March.
It has been brought to our attention that we need to do a better job keeping our website and social media platforms updated.
The improvements made in the motel rooms have been appreciated but we still have more to do. For long term stays we need to make things more comfortable. A place to sit, better internet, and some kind of work surface have all been suggested. The space is limited in the rooms though, as we do not want to lose sleeping space in the process.
We are still exploring options to increase our capacity as well. We know we need more family friendly spaces.
Camp Fusion
Camp Fusion is coming up! We have a good number of our staff in place, which is always a good feeling. We are waiting to hear back from some that have been asked to fill key positions yet.
We are looking for someone to wash dishes the full run of Camp. This is a paid position, and it does require a time commitment. The person who takes this on has to be at least 18 years old, and have a Food Handlers Certificate. Responsibilities include making sure all implements used in the process of food preparation are properly cleaned and sanitized. This means maintaining proper water cleanliness and temperature, as well as proper sanitation levels.
We also need a Dining Hall Assistant. This is a volunteer position, and is for the full run of Camp. Responsibilities include helping set up and clean up for all meals, making sure paper products are stocked for the salad bar and serving line, and assisting with the Dining Hall crew. This position is a time commitment, but does have some flexibility. While there is not an age requirement, due to the general age of the crew, over 18 is preferred.

Birthday Challenge
The Board is issuing a new challenge this year; the Birthday Challenge. On your birthday, give $1 for each year old you are! You don’t have to wait for your birthday to give. We have had 5 challenges paid as of our February 1st meeting.

We currently have 6 RV spaces, and 6 rooms rented. An RV was scheduled to come in on a month to month basis. 1 apartment was also scheduled to be rented on a weekly basis at our long term rate due to the unknown length of stay.
Giving
We rely heavily on our Camp Family for support, as the rentals are a blessing, and not a given. The projects we would like to take on are not possible on our current income. If you do not currently support the Camp financially, we ask that you please consider doing so.
We have 2 options for online giving. We use tithe.ly, which is an app available for both Android and iOS users. We are finally listed as New Life Christian Camp! We also use PayPal using the email address newlifechristiancamp@outlook.com.
If you prefer to mail a check, they can be made out to NLCCA, and sent to 11257 Old Macomb Road, Rushville, IL 62681.
