Camp News
The renovation of Cabin 11 is progressing to the materials phase. The layout was finalized, and the big pieces needed will be ordered soon. We know how much drywall we need, the number of cabinets, paint, etc. Furniture, flooring, and countertops are still in progress.
As always, our insurance and utility costs are increasing for 2025.
Camp Fusion
Camp Fusion is coming up! We have a good number of our staff in place, which is always a good feeling. We are waiting to hear back from some that have been asked to fill key positions yet.
We are looking for someone to wash dishes the full run of Camp. This is a paid position, and it does require a time commitment. The person who takes this on has to be at least 18 years old, and have a Food Handlers Certificate. Responsibilities include making sure all implements used in the process of food preparation are properly cleaned and sanitized. This means maintaining proper water cleanliness and temperature, as well as proper sanitation levels.
We also need a Dining Hall Assistant. This is a volunteer position, and is for the full run of Camp. Responsibilities include helping set up and clean up for all meals, making sure paper products are stocked for the salad bar and serving line, and assisting with the Dining Hall crew. This position is a time commitment, but does have some flexibility. While there is not an age requirement, due to the general age of the crew, 18 or over is preferred.

Birthday Challenge
The Board is issuing a new challenge this year; the Birthday Challenge. On your birthday, give $1 for each year old you are! You don’t have to wait for your birthday to give. We have had 5 challenges paid as of our February 1st meeting.

In discussion
If you have attended Camp Fusion the last couple of years, it is no secret that we have been at capacity, and then some. Our registrar has done a fantastic job of making sure that everyone that wants to stay has a bed. We know the Youth Chapel is nearing capacity as well. While these are good problems to have, they are becoming more difficult to overcome. We are discussing what type of space(s) will be the most beneficial for future use and growth, and how to proceed.
Occupancy
We currently have 3 RV spaces, and 1 room rented. 2 of the RV’s are on month to month stays, and the third had been with us for a month. They may extend their stay though.
A small work crew was anticipated to be coming in, with 4 rooms and a RV space requested. We were also anticipating an additional RV and room to be coming in. They were anticipating the project they’re on to take 2-3 weeks.
Rentals for next year’s hunting season are coming in already. Many are those that have stayed with us previously.
Giving
We rely heavily on our Camp Family for support, as the rentals are a blessing, and not a given. The projects we would like to take on are not possible on our current income. If you do not currently support the Camp financially, we ask that you please consider doing so.
We have 2 options for online giving. We use tithe.ly, which is an app available for both Android and iOS users. We are finally listed as New Life Christian Camp! We also use PayPal using the email address newlifechristiancamp@outlook.com.
